How far is it from Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus?

Is it best to take the AP-7 toll road or the old coastal road?
If you want to see the sites along the coast and feel a bit more of the action before getting to Puerto Banus, the slower coast road is a good option. The transfer takes around 10 minutes more than going on the AP-7 toll road. But the toll road is a straighter route with less traffic, for those who want to get to the hotel asap! The toll cost is €8.90 in peak season and €5.50 off-peak.

What transfer options are there from Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus?
There is no train to Puerto Banus. There is no direct bus service either, but there are bus services departing from Malaga Airport and arriving at Playas del Duque via Marbella, so you do have to change at Marbella Bus Station and catch another bus to Puerto Banus. The cost is around €6 to €9 per person and runs hourly to Marbella.
The two main ways of getting from Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus are either car hire or private airport transfer. A round-trip transfer is normally cheaper than renting a car. You don't have to worry about getting shuttled to your car hire company's premises and then sorting out the paperwork for your rental car etc. Your driver is waiting for you and your car will be close by. A real stress-free treat at a cheap price.
