Relax on the beach
This shouldn't be too difficult on San Pedro de Alcantara's long, golden, sandy beach. Here, you can relax and unwind, cool down in the sea, or grab a bite to eat in one of the chiringuitos.
Go for a stroll
Enjoy a pleasant walk along the delightful palm-tree-lined promenade and feel the gentle breeze from the Mediterranean Sea.
Alternatively, explore the San Pedro Boulevard park, which is popular with locals and tourists alike. Apart from beautiful surroundings, it offers a total of six playgrounds and an outdoor amphitheatre, which often hosts performances and concerts.
Sample some delicious food
San Pedro de Alcantara has an excellent choice of bars and restaurants. Head to the old town for traditional and lively Spanish dining, where you will find several restaurants with a fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices.
Go sightseeing
Visit the Plaza de la Iglesia with its gracious parish church. In the surrounding narrow streets, you will find an abundance of interesting little shops, cafes, and bars.
Get to know the town's historical heritage by exploring La Basilica de Vega del Mar, the remains of an early Christian church and burial site. You may also want to see Las Bovedas, the Roman baths dating back to the 3rd century, which were first discovered in 1926.
Go further afield
If you want to go a bit further afield and explore the surrounding areas, San Pedro de Alcantara is perfectly situated. While only a short drive away from the glitz and glamour of Puerto Banus and Marbella, you are also very close to the beautiful Sierra de Ronda mountain range. Here, you can go walking and hiking and discover some of the many white-washed traditional villages that have managed to retain their authentic character.
